The Godfather Part III (1990)

Many films have been shot in one of New York’s most emblematic hotels, but the final movie in the Corleone family saga had some unforgettable scenes filmed at the Waldorf Astoria. This famous luxury hotel, its sophisticated suites, shops, and restaurants are a mandatory visit for all movie lovers.

Bellagio, Las Vegas
Ocean’s Eleven (2001)

George Clooney captained a legendary band of thieves to ruin the party for hotel owner Terry Benedict, played by actor Andy García. The film’s plot focuses on stealing the money raised during a successful weekend in one of the most luxurious places in Vegas: the Bellagio hotel. The movie was directed by Steven Soderbergh and following its success two sequels were filmed in the same location.

Park Hyatt Hotel, Tokio
Lost in Translation (2003)

Recognized as one of Tokyo’s most luxurious hotels, the Park Hyatt has become a legend after director Sofia Coppola filmed Lost in Translation on the premises. As part of the plot, actor Bill Murray and a very young Scarlett Johansson roam the hotel, while a very particular connection sparks between them.

The Bourne Legacy (2004)

In the last film of the Bourne saga, a confused and tormented Jason Bourne—a role played by actor Matt Damon—stays at one of the best and most luxurious hotels in Berlin, The Westin Grand Berlin overlooking the historic Unter den Linden Avenue.

Marriott Hotel, Budapest
Munich (2005)

Located in the center of Hungarian capital, a few steps from its main monuments, the Marriott Hotel in Budapest plays a fundamental role in Steven Spielberg‘s 2005 film Munich. But since most things in the film are fiction, due to demands of the script, the Marriott becomes a London hotel where Eric Bana and Daniel Craig have drinks at the bar or waiting in the lobby.

Hotel de la Reconquista, Oviedo
Vicky Cristina Barcelona (2008)

This beautiful 18th-century baroque building was once the Pilgrims Hospice and Hospital of Asturias, in Spain. Currently, it is a five star hotel chosen by Woody Allen, Javier Bardem, and Penélope Cruz to stay during the shooting of the film Vicky Cristina Barcelona. Some scenes from the movie were also shot here. ■
