One of the main protagonists of the 2015 Geneva Motor Show was the new prototype presented by the British brand Bentley. The EXP 10 Speed 6 captured the attention of car lovers with its new exterior design –a first for the brand –and its stunning interior, overflowing with elegance, refinement and technology.
With a smaller size and a sportier design than the current models of the Bentley family, this luxury two-seater aims to enter a segment where the British automaker had not participated before. It will compete directly with brands such as Aston Martin and Jaguar, among others. Wolfgang Dürheimer, Bentley’s president, introduced the prototype as Bentley`s vision of the future and highlighted its real potential to become a leader in the segment of luxury two-seater sports cars.
Unlike its predecessors, the EXP 10 Speed 6 features an aerodynamic line inspired by aeronautical designs, evident in its rounded front, the curved roofline and the wider rear, which adds stability to the vehicle. Another detail that caused much admiration among specialists is the slick design of the rear 3D optics in balance with the exhaust in the lower part of the bumper. At the same time and in order to maintain brand identity, the EXT 10 Speed 6 retains some of Bentley`s distinctive features, such as the four three-dimensional rounded front headlights and the large front mesh grille crowned by the classic logo of the winged B. More on luxury automobiles.
Inside, the cabin displays a perfect harmony between technology, design, luxury and attention to detail. Each of the two seats is surrounded by enveloping panels that start in the center console, entirely lined with leather. The panel integrates digital information with tactile controls, highlighting a 12 inch intuitive touchscreen and the exquisite gear selector with wood and copper detail. The mechanical rev counter and digital display showcase a great balance of modern driver info systems and analogue beauty.
Continuing the fusion of traditional materials and contemporary design, the doors of the EXP 10 Speed 6 feature diamond quilted leather and solid straight-grain hand carved cherry wood. The space behind the seats is divided into two compartments designed to house a four-piece luggage set specifically designed for this model.
As of now, there is no data available on the engine, but the large white number six in the front grille suggests the use of a V6 describing the mechanical evolution of the brand.
After falling in love with the new Bentley two-seater, we can only hope that this dream will soon come true. ■
