Year after year, the world’s major shipyards surprise us ever larger yachts that amaze customers and specialists for their cutting-edge designs and advanced technologies. This is the case of the Stiletto 351, a project by the Dutch shipyard Oceanco, which offers a striking exterior design created by the great Ken Freivokh Design, as well as an innovative interior layout.
When we hear the word stiletto, the first thing that comes to mind are sexy high-heeled shoes, but the concept also applies to a short dagger—with a very sharp and narrow blade—that was once used by sailors.
It is precisely that dagger that inspired the exterior lines of the new Stiletto by Oceanco, which has a sharp bow and a flat side that widens towards the stern plus large windows and huge decks. The yacht’s exterior is made of glass, wood, and metal in perfect balance and tonal harmony.
With a length of 351 feet (107 meters) and 50.2 feet wide (15.3 meters), the yacht offers 1,079 square meters of indoor space (11,614 square feet) and 878 square meters of outdoor decks (9,450 sq. ft.) on four levels. Despite its enormous size, this luxury liner was designed for just 18 passengers. It is divided into a huge master stateroom for the owner— with panoramic views— and eight guest cabins plus a crew of 29 members.
Among the spacious outdoor areas, the vast aft deck on the third level houses the expandable helipad and balconies. It also connects to a 26-foot-long indoor pool, covered by a sliding roof and side windows.
Towards the stern on the main level, we find another pool with practically the same dimensions, but outdoors and with spectacular views. On the third level, there is a splendid outdoor dining room, and above there is a circular panoramic Jacuzzi with solarium area.
Inside, the Stiletto features a double height living room with a skylight that lets in plenty of light and an elegant spiral staircase that connects the yacht’s three primary levels.
The double height, huge windows, and open floor plan offer a feeling of spaciousness difficult to find in other vessels this size. The decor says modern luxury, where marbles, soft surfaces, and light colors— as well as glazed surfaces— predominate.
Regarding the engine, Stiletto 351 features two MTU diesel engines of 1,931 horsepower each, combined with two electric motors of 500 kW at 2,250 rpm. This group of engines provides hybrid propulsion and very low consumption, with a top speed of over 18 knots (20.71 miles per hour).
Oceanco Stiletto is a modern and elegant vessel with a cutting-edge interior design. Bold and ambitious, it is a beautiful representation of a booming industry. ■
