Because it couldn’t be done any other way, Rolls-Royce dramatically entered the luxury SUV arena with the Cullinan, a super-tech off-road vehicle that comes to compete directly with the best of its category, such as the Lamborghini Urus or Bentley Bentayga.
To develop this family model, the British company designed a platform of high strength aluminum. The flexibility and surprising robustness of this chassis offers passengers a truly unique and comfortable ride, making it stand out from the rest of the cars in its class. This SUV guarantees the typical “magic carpet” ride that distinguishes Rolls-Royce.
In addition, the Cullinan’s intelligent hydraulic suspension scheme anticipates impacts and imperfections in the terrain. A series of cameras analyze the ground in real time, hardening or lightening the suspensions according to the demands as they change moment by moment.
The car’s all-wheel-drive system is powered by a classic 6.75-liter twin-turbocharged V12 engine. With a power of 571 hp, the thrust of its 12-cylinders engine is impressive. In fact, its 627 lb / p of torque takes place at only 1,600 rpm. This performance offers good off-road performance, despite not having a gearbox, resulting in Rolls-Royce deciding to name this new system the Everywhere off-road system.
But the Rolls-Royce Cullinan is not just about performance. The exterior aesthetics of the model respects the centennial tradition of the brand. Its elegant design is dominated by straight lines that form generous volumes. The grid of vertical silver strips gives the vehicle an aesthetic edge. The most innovative is the design of the rear door, which, like the main doors, opens from the center to the ends, but horizontally. Its exterior design recalls some design features from certain competitors such as the Bentayga.
Inside the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, natural materials such as wood, polished metals and leather abound. All are details of luxury, but classic style. The entertainment system includes individual screens for rear passengers, wireless chargers for mobile devices and multi-functional connectivity.
For those who travel in the Cullinan with a driver, its limousine configuration offers two reclining rear seats. The seats are separated by a central console that hides an exclusive decanter and crystal glasses.
Another unique detail of the model is the viewing suite function included in the vehicle’s tail. By pressing a button on the trunk, two leather seats and an exclusive cocktail table, a sort of private bar hanging from the tailgate, unfold. This provides the best way to enjoy the environment and nature in total comfort and with great style.
Cullinan is the name of one of the largest diamonds in history. And this exquisite all-terrain SUV is, without doubt, the biggest jewel in the history of Rolls-Royce. It only remains to see it shine on the asphalt, earth, mud or snow. ■
