Columbus 40S
The luxury yacht industry is going through substantial changes since ecological engines became a very attractive feature for those considering buying a new vessel. In response to this market need, Columbus introduced its 40S Hybrid model with an unrivaled sporty line and excellent diesel and electric engines that provide great fuel efficiency, performance, and sustainability. The 40S Hybrid has a control system that allows us to select three modes of propulsion: the conventional diesel with two MTU 12V2000M94 engines, the hybrid mode in which the combustion engines are assisted by two Siemens generators of 60KW, and finally a fully electric mode.
This versatility allows a high-speed sports performance thanks to its powerful diesel engines (with a maximum of 22 knots), very efficient fuel consumption in its hybrid green propulsion mode and zero emissions of carbon dioxide in its electric mode. The 131 feet long and 27 feet wide yacht uses a semi-displacement floating system with an aluminum hull.

In response to this market need, Columbus introduced its 40S Hybrid model with an unrivaled sporty line and excellent diesel and electric engines that provide great fuel efficiency, performance, and sustainability.
The stunning exterior was designed by the renowned engineering studio Palumbo Group/Hydro Tec, which gave it a modern, sporty aesthetic, highlighting the texture of the aluminum side panels, cut bluntly by straight lines of windows on the three levels of the yacht.
The interior was developed by the studio Hot Lab, which proposed a very comfortable arrangement with spacious areas. The main hall, for example, occupies the full width of the vessel and features sliding glass doors on the sides which, open onto large folding balconies. The decor boasts and light-colored hues, hardwoods, marble, metals and other luxurious finishes, which deliver a sense of comfortable sophistication.

The 40S Hybrid can accommodate ten passengers. It boasts an exquisite full beam master suite with double bathroom, dressing room, writing desk and living room. There is also a VIP double cabin, and three regular double cabins with private bathrooms.
The Columbus sustainable model was built with ecological awareness throughout its production process, using wood from high growth rate trees, recycled aluminum, non-polluting water-based paints, and materials that require little transport to cause the least possible environmental impact.
On its outdoor areas, the panoramic aft deck–with a large al fresco dining area–is located a few steps from the fold-out swimming platform which offers easy access to the water. On the main level, there is an exquisite indoor dining room with seating for up to 10 guests.
Last but not least, the foredeck on the third level houses the best amenities of the ship, with a spacious bar, a sun deck and a Jacuzzi strategically located with spectacular views of the bow.
