An electric Aston Martin? The concept is no longer a dream or a crazy idea. The iconic British sports cars brand that makes the favorite vehicles of the iconic movie franchise James Bond, has just launched the first prototype of a classic collector’s car that is totally converted into a 100% ecological and emission-free electric car.
The Aston Martin DB6 1970 has been adapted from an innovative technology called EV Cassette, which is installed alongside the traditional diesel engine of the brand’s old cars.

The EV cassette device encapsulates the lithium-ion cells in a compact body and connects to the transmission system and the motor through cables as do the latest-generation electric cars. This technological solution, practical and modern, avoids the generalized modification of the propulsion system and makes it possible to revert the modification in the future, if the owner of the car wishes to do so.
So, why is this traditional English sports car brand offering the electrification of its collection models? To remain relevant in the future.
A very interesting strategic proposal if we take into account that the laws that seek the massive adoption of sustainable technologies are increasingly restrictive with respect to any vehicle that contaminates the environment.

The DB6 1970 that had the honor of being the first electric Aston Martin modified with this technology is convincing proof that the intervention of the ecological team is minimal and that the incorporation of the plugs and the systems of propulsion do not modify the original design of this elegant and distinguished cabriolet. The only obvious difference that the workshops of Aston Martin anticipate in all the electrified models is the incorporation of a digital display in the instrument panel, which will indicate the amount of charge of the batteries.

This new alternative of the classic model of the Aston Martin will be available in 2019 and will be made only in the central workshops of the United Kingdom.
