A supercar inspired by high-performance racing technology and the seductive Italian super sports style.
The lightness of the 4C Spider relies on a monocoque chassis made with a carbon and aluminum alloy, three times stronger and seven times lighter than steel. The windshield and side windows also made their contribution reducing by 15 percent its original weight, thanks to a novel glass component that is 10 percent thinner. The engine is all aluminum with an outstanding 1,750 cc turbo direct injection engine, dual intercoolers and variable valve synchronization (VVT), which allows its 237 horsepower.
The design incorporates three functional heat extractors and an aerodynamic spoiler with large air intakes that cool the engine. To emphasize its supercar style, the body of the vehicle was located slightly above the cab line, undulating gently towards the front. The removable roof completes the perfect aerodynamics of the Alfa Romeo 4C Spider, achieving an excellent ratio between power and weight.
The Alfa Romeo TCT gearbox has been adapted to incorporate the optional Track, which provides maximum road performance and includes front and rear stabilizer bars, slightly wider than standard. The brake system—designed for road use and in extreme driving conditions—is equipped with four auto-ventilated perforated discs and four aluminum pistons in the front axle.
The interior of the 2015 4C Spider highlights two sports seats, leather-lined steering wheel and shifter, and pedals made of aluminum, which emphasize the distinctive sporty image of the brand. A 7-inch color screen with high digital definition (DHD), located on the dashboard, provides the essential vehicle information, multiple connectivity options and multimedia, such as Bluetooth, USB, iPod interface, CD / MP3 and Radio satellite. ■
