The new BMW 8 Series has been one of the most exciting announcements from the automotive industry so far in 2018. The first model of the brand’s most luxurious series surprises with its design, its elegant interior and excellent engine. It’s a super sport four-seater designed to provide the best possible driving experience.
The BMW 8 Series is elegant, powerful, and spacious, in addition to being an aesthetically pleasing coupé. Its 4.4 liter V8 engine and 530 horse power allow for 0 to 60 mph acceleration in 3.7 seconds. The car can reach a speed of up to 155 mph, and it competes directly with the Porsche Panamera, the Aston Martin DB11, and the Mercedes Benz AMG GTS.

The exterior lines of the Series 8 demonstrate an aggressive but elegant personality, reminiscent of high-end sprinters. The line of the hood is long and robust, extending the windshield and roof with pronounced curves. The aerodynamic effectiveness of this car is one of its main attributes, optimized by the small spoiler integrated on the trunk.
In contrast to the curves of the front, the rear half of the car is distinguished by its angles, with several diffusers and LED headlights.
The interior of the BMW 8 Series brings a touch of modernity to the formality of the brand, using materials such as glass, leather and carbon fiber. The dashboard’s most notable feature is its 12.3 inches, fully customizable digital screen. A digital display can also be projected on the windshield (called a head-up display). The entertainment system offers a central touch screen of 10.25 inches with gesture command. A Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound system adds a final touch to an already an exquisite interior.
The new BMW 8 Series also brings astonishing new technology to the driver. The bodywork is created using aluminum parts and carbon fiber reinforced polymers to optimize weight. The dynamic integral traction can deliver 100% of the thrust to the rear wheels, while the firmness of the suspension can be adapted to suite particular types of driving.
Unsurprisingly, the active and passive driver assistance are excellent: parking assistance, lane control, frontal collision control, and pedestrian detection are only a few of the features available on this model. The front lights incorporate BMW Laserlights, laser technology that illuminates up to nearly 2,000 feet away, twice the range of traditional LED headlights. In addition, its 360° cameras assist an autonomous driving system, which can be activated only when the driver’s hands are on the steering wheel.

The BMW Series 8 raises itself to the level of cutting edge technology that matches what’s available on models from Tesla and Mercedes-Benz. One addition is the option for a configurable wireless digital key: an access code to the car can be incorporated into a cell phone using NFC (Near Field Communication) technology.
The latest BMW models brings back the unique identity the brand has been for throughout its history. Powerful luxury vehicles, offering best market technology and, above all, the best possible experience for the driver. The BMW 8 Series is an excellent car, leading up to the launch of the M8 in 2019—another day we look forward to. ■
