The world of gastronomy recently lost one of its greatest sons with the sad passing of the French born, legendary chef Joël Robuchon. The most coveted, Michelin-starred chef was the mastermind and creative visionary behind some of the top dining establishments around the globe and was named by the International Herald Tribune as developing the “Best Restaurant in the World.”
Joël Robuchon served as the creative visionary behind the dining establishments of one of the world’s most luxurious hotels, the Hotel Metropole Monte-Carlo. Since 2004, Monsieur Robuchon and the hotel’s head chef Christophe Cussac have produced original and innovative menu concepts for its three restaurants.
With two Michelin stars, the first one is Restaurant Joël Robuchon Monte-Carlo, which specializes in refined dishes with Mediterranean flavors. The open, Teppanyaki-style kitchen creates a warm, inviting atmosphere and makes for a unique dining experience.
The second one is Yoshi, which means ‘goodness’ in Japanese It offers traditional cuisine that combines French and Nippon elements, served in a bright, modern setting created by Didier Gomez. Chef Takeo Yamazaki was invited from Chateau Robuchon to develop and oversee the outstanding menu for the Michelin star restaurant. In September, the lobby of the hotel, exquisitely decorated, will celebrate the restaurant’s 10th anniversary by featuring the colors of Japan and hosting special festivities in honor of the Eastern culture.
Joël Robuchon’s third restaurant at Metropole Monte-Carlo, Odyssey, unveils a haute couture, poolside setting, designed by fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld. Odyssey offers a regionally inspired menu featuring fresh seasonal produce and light cuisine.
