On February 20, 2020, the bright pinks and greens of the Lilly Pulitzer boutique in Palm Beach, Florida, set the perfect, colorful backdrop as FoundCare, Inc. hosted its kickoff party for its upcoming À Votre Santé (“To Your Health”) tropical dinner party. Attendees enjoyed shopping at the event, and 10 percent of all sales at the pre-party were donated to FoundCare. Many VIPs attended including Donna Mulholland, Ambassador Nancy Brinker, Donna and Dr. David Dodson, Jeffrey and Trisha Cole, Beth and Marc Goldberg and Ken and Barnette Druskin.

Happening Sunday, March 29th at Club Colette, À Votre Santé will benefit FoundCare and its efforts to provide affordable medical care to all patients in Palm Beach County, regardless of their ability to pay. The evening will include a thrilling auction and exhilarating live music from the quartet, Les Nuages (The Clouds). Guests are encouraged to dress in their most festive tropical attire.

This year’s Honorees are Nancy Brinker, Jeffrey and Trisha Cole, Beth and Marc Goldberg and Penny Shaffer. They are being recognized for their outstanding contributions to healthcare in Palm Beach County as well as their years of involvement with FoundCare. The Host Committee includes Barnette and Ken Druskin, Donna and Dr. David Dodson and Houston Tate. Donna Mulholland is this year’s honorary chairperson. With an extensive medical and philanthropic background, Mulholland served as a member of FoundCare’s first Board of Directors and has supported the health center ever since.

Beth and Marc Goldberg have been involved with FoundCare for five years, after being introduced to the organization through friends. “We all have a responsibility to help others secure quality healthcare availability and to share our good fortune with others in need,” said Mr. Goldberg. “We are pleased to support the pediatric wing of FoundCare’s Palm Springs site in memory of our son Michael who passed away in 1988 at the age of 14 as a result of pediatric lymphoma.”

Jeff and Trisha Cole got involved with FoundCare years ago after a visit to the facility set up by Dr. Dodson. They have supported the organization through their belief that everyone deserves quality healthcare. The Coles served as the 2019 À Votre Santé honorary chairpersons.

New Program For Breast And Cervical Cancer

Nancy Brinker has partnered with FoundCare through the “Promise Fund of Florida” organization, to pilot an innovative program at FoundCare designed to help people with breast and cervical cancer access critical services. Brinker and the Promise Fund recognized the need in the community, and the program will help guide and support patients by providing navigators.

Penny Shaffer knows the importance of access to quality healthcare. “I am living proof that it is all fine until it is not,” Shaffer said. “I survived cancer and believe it is because of good routine annual checkups and age appropriate screenings. All should have access to preventative care and early detection. FoundCare’s work makes me proud of the community and our region.

”FoundCare uses a sliding fee scale based on household size and income, and no one is turned away for inability to pay for services. “In 2019, FoundCare served 18,725 patients, of which 38% were uninsured,” said Yolette Bonnet, CEO of FoundCare. “That means over 7,000 patients in need of care received life-improving health services at FoundCare. Without your support, our patients and their families would have limited options for care or would go without accessing care altogether.”
