October is the month when we truly welcome autumn, a time for reflection, melancholy and light coats. With the cooler temperatures, the idea of visiting a park or a museum becomes a clear call to explore the city and its culture. If that is what you desire, I propose a weekend escape to London Town from October 17th to the 20th, where the Frieze Art Fair will be installed at Regent’s Park. At sundown, the falling foliage colors the green pastures with enchanting shades of yellow, purple or red. You’ll be privy to the scents and colors of fall while you direct your steps towards the heart of the park.
There you find a temporary pavilion designed by architects David Adjaye, Jamie Fobert and Caruso St. John, where you will experience a different sensation. You are leaving behind nature’s delights to enter the realm of art with the impressive collections of some of the world’s most distinguished galleries within the same roof.
Gallery owners, collectors, experts and the general public are the protagonists of these four days of activities. Frieze Art Far has become, in only 11 years, one of the most important fairs in the world, specialized in contemporary works from living artists. Last year, more than 60,000 visitors attended the event.

After eleven previous editions, the 2013 Frieze Art Fair features Alexander McQueen as an associate sponsor. “Frieze brings the most significant galleries from around the globe, and Alexander McQueen supports it and shares the vision of making contemporary art more accessible and participatory to the public,” says Jonathan Akeroyd, Executive President of Alexander McQueen.
The same concept was used to inaugurate the Frieze Art Fair in New York, last year, with more than 180 galleries and an excellent calendar of parallel events in Randall Island, located between Manhattan and Brooklyn, which can be reached by car or by ferry.
