The monochromatic bracelet measures only 2.3 inches. It uses OLED technology and is attached to the back of an interchangeable leather strap, made by the Montblanc Pelleteria in Florence, Italy, especially for the Time Walker model. The small digital device communicates with the Bluetooth 4.0 technology and can display text messages and emails, identify incoming calls, receive notifications from social networks and set calendar reminders.
The new e-Strap boasts a series of sensors and software that monitor physical activity, which allow users to establish goals and create physical exercise routines. The device acts as a pedometer, counting the number of steps taken during a particular period and provides an estimate of the calories burned and the distance traveled. If there is a performance decline that prevents the user from achieving the desired objectives, the e-Strap will send a reminder through a vibrating alarm. Read about luxury smart devices here.
Another interesting wireless feature is the ability to operate the cell phone camera and media player via remote control. The device, created by Montblanc ´s engineers, also comes with an exclusive feature called FindMe, which can locate the watch or mobile phone within 100 feet. The e-Strap is compatible with Samsung Galaxy S4, S5, Note 3 Note 4 and mobile devices with the Android operating systems 4.3 and above. It is also compatible with smartphones like the Apple iPhone 4S, 5, 5C, 5S, 6 and 6 plus.
The case of the e-Strap is made of steel with protective rubber gaskets, and its battery—which can be recharged with a standard micro USB cable—has a maximum duration of five days. While the device was designed for the automatic Time Walker Urban Speed watch, it can also be set to other timepieces and any strap 20-22 mm wide. This new proposal by Montblanc is the perfect solution for those who love mechanical auto-loading timepieces and want to add intelligent functions to their watches without sacrificing style or elegance. ■
