Aston Martin‘s DB sports models were created in the 1950s, in honor of former owner David Brown. Over the decades, its different versions have been synonymous with technology and sportsmanship. The DB5 model made Austin Martin a legendary brand after it appeared in the 1964 James Bond film, Goldfinger.
The new AM DB9 GT can match records worthy of racing cars. It is able to accelerate from 0-60 mph (100 kph) in just 4.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 183 miles (about 295 kilometers) per hour while maintaining a comfortable ride and the elegant pace characteristic of Aston Martin cars.
These performance improvements were achieved thanks to the exterior redesign of the body, which has significantly improved its aerodynamic coefficients and increased its strength by using lighter but stronger materials, such as carbon fiber and aluminum. More than 70 percent of the components of this version are totally new to the line. For example, to provide highly responsive and soft touch brakes, Aston Martin used discs made of perforated ceramic, which deliver better halt records, increased durability, and lighter weight.
The new DB9 boasts the most technological and elegant interiors ever offered in an Aston Martin. To this end, the company design a cabin rich in luxurious details. Hand stitched leather upholstery covers the seats, the side door and the front panel. The carbon fiber lining of the instrumental equipment gives the DB9 a sporty aesthetic.
The central panel looks stylish with its glass console buttons, and the retractable multimedia screen offers last generation configuration and connectivity, including the new AMi II infotainment system package, which promises greater customization.
Available in two versions, Coupe and Volante (convertible or cabriolet), this new Aston Martin release shows–once again–that they possess advanced technical and aesthetic skills to create a distinguished and noble supercar worthy of any professional racetrack.
