If you like to bring an artistic touch to your home decor, the Museum of Modern Art in New York City (MoMA) has a wonderful design store where you can find fun reproductions of some of the pieces contained in the illustrious institution’s private collection. The store also features pieces produced by the French firm Ligne Blanche.
The Parisian company sells adorable plates—manufactured by the renowned porcelain label Limoges—that can be used for decoration or as china for special occasions. They feature licensed works by some of the most important contemporary artists. Nothing can be more spectacular than Andy Warhol‘s images of Marilyn Monroe, or Mapplethorpe’s sublime renditions of flowers, as well as a large-format reproduction of Eine Tochter Sowjetkirgisiens – Clara by Georg Baselitz, the German postmodern or neo-expressionist painter, depending on what side of the Atlantic you find yourself.
We particularly love the piece by the British conceptual, performance and body artists Gilbert Proesch and George Passmore (Gilbert & George), as well as Alex Katz’s captivating female portraits Jessica and Sara Mearns. This remarkable collection also features works by American artist Jack Pierson, world-famous for his word sculptures made with multiple materials that turn into edgy murals such as The Golden Years, and McDonald Ltd, a piece by Tom Sachs.
