The incredible new speaker is made of 10 mm thick plastic and 65 kilos (143 lbs) of molten aluminum holding 30 tweeters, seven mid-range speakers, three side and rear woofers, and a large front woofer.
All the features are covered with a black mesh fixed at only four points to reduce the effect on the acoustic performance—by limiting the usual frame of conventional speakers. The 8,200 watts power and quality of sound are colossal, and can easily reach the 9,000 watts.
To date, the BeoLab 90 is our most complete speaker. We have invested in professional manpower, ideal materials, and superior technology.
The speaker base is made of oak panels. One of them hides the power connections, RCA, XLR, USB, S / PDIF and Toslink. As we might expect, the digital audio inputs are compatible with high resolution up to 24 bit/ 192kHz.
BeoLab 90 also boasts technological innovations that make it exceptional: Active Room Compensation, Beam Width Control, and Bean Direction Control. These systems reduce or eliminate sound saturation and distortion. They also read the room and learn the placement of the existing furniture to balance the acoustic effects and the sound in the listening environment.
The result is a near-perfect sound that can be heard from any position thanks to its 360-degree design, with no apparent visual front due to its angular design, which allows it to direct sound in various directions around a room.
With BeoLab 90, the user can adjust the sound to create the best environment using an application since these speakers can connect to the Internet and download apps.
Mar Mantoni, CEO of Bang & Olufsen, says: “To date, the BeoLab 90 is our most complete speaker. We have invested in professional manpower, ideal materials, and superior technology. In the future, the products created by B & O will benefit from the innovation and know-how acquired from developing the BeoLab 90”.
This new speaker was unveiled during the 90th anniversary of Bang & Olufsen. You may find it in the company`s most select shops at a price of US $80,000 for a pair. ■
