Renowned Italian shipyard Admiral recently introduced the spectacular 180-foot Quinta Essentia at the Yachts Miami Beach show. This superyacht is a jewel of modern naval engineering. The main novelty is its hybrid engine. Just like in the automotive world, boat builders are gradually starting to incorporate more environmentally friendly powertrain alternatives. As with the pioneering Columbus 40S, the owners of this vessel have opted for more efficient propellers, better autonomy, excellent performance and less toxic emissions.
Quinta Essentia has two MAN 1,400-horsepower diesel engines combined with two 150-kilowatt electric motors that allow a maximum speed of 16.5 knots in regular mode and up to 9.5 knots in electric mode. This means an average consumption of only 24 gallons per hour, with an estimated maximum range of 6,500 nautical miles.
Vripack Architects and Dobroserdov Design created the exterior design in Tuscany with rounded lines and colors reminiscent of merlot, the owner’s favorite Tuscan wine varietal.
The interior, on the other hand, was entrusted to designer Michela Riverberi. She was asked to include the four elements of nature—water, air, earth and fire—in her work to reveal life’s “quintessence,” or Quinta Essentia. Riverberi was also inspired by the beauty of Tuscany.
[more-links]Burgundy hues allude to wine, and olive tones are cleverly combined with organic prints featuring trees, flowers and flying birds. The walls are lined with natural wood and silk-textured wallpapers, while the ceilings have been finished with elegant wooden moldings that emulate those of ancient Italian palaces. Each piece of furniture and every decorative object is custom made.
The central staircase that connects all three levels also acts as a focal point. It is decorated with a delicate mural made of metal resin embellished with enamel and natural feathers. The result is a stunning work of art.
Quinta Essentia can accommodate up to 12 passengers. The master suite comes with panoramic views, a study, a dressing room, an en suite and a private terrace. There are four double VIP cabins, two of which can be converted into four double cabins. The generous spaces complement the atmosphere of relaxation that is woven throughout the vessel.
Quinta Essentia also delivers all the comforts expected in a modern yacht. It boasts a spa with sauna, massage room, showers, a full gym, a pool that accommodates 10, a multimedia room, a beach club platform with access to the water, two Jacuzzis and a touch-and-go helipad. Quinta Essentia, with a price tag of around $39 million, was one of the most beautiful boats for sale at Yachts Miami Beach. ■
