Designed for 12 passengers and 12 crew members, the first thing about the Crystal Blue that gets your attention is the absence of the control bridge. In its place, there is a huge double level living room that occupies the bow area, covered by a glass surface that serves as a roof. In this futuristic vessel, the control room has been shifted toward a lower level, below the waterline, and operates remotely. The crew controls the ship and its surroundings using numerous sensors, cameras, screens, and active positioning technologies.

On the Crystal Blue, the perfect panoramic view, which usually can be seen from the bridge area on boats of this size, is no longer a privilege of the crew and has become an amenity for passengers as well.

Another important innovation is the engine powered by a sustainable hybrid propulsion system, which combines electric motors with Liquid Natural Gas (LNG). While this is a technology that has been used previously in commercial vessels, it has not yet been included so far in private yachts due to the huge size of storage space that LNG tanks require. The inclusion of these tanks occupies almost the whole of the lower level of the boat.

As a solution to this problem, Rolls Royce also designed a complimentary boat of 137 feet in length called Blue Shadow, which not only acts as a reserve storage facility of extra fuel for the main ship (working in combination they achieve a range of 4,400 nautical miles), but which also carries additional water sports toys and functions as a heliport.

This innovation allows you to equip the boat with extra amenities for the passengers. Its design is evidently modern, somewhat futuristic, featuring straight lineage and angular contours with a closed bow offering a double-height frontal section. The stern features spacious covered areas on all levels and balconies with diagonal lines for a unique aesthetic.
