The top echelon of celebrity gifting suites begins and ends with French native Nathalie Dubois-Sissoko, president and CEO, DPA Group.
Each year Dubois hosts the most exclusive luxury lounges in Beverly Hills and Paris, as well as the crème de la crème annual celebration at the Carlton Hotel in Cannes, during the world’s most famous film festival.
Dubois attributes her success in part to her world travels and the exotic cultural influences of the products she selects for her unique events. She comments, “Celebrities want new and exciting products — products that are exotic. They don’t just want the same thing at every suite.”
This year Dubois did not disappoint, presenting the most sought-after global fashion brands at the LUXE Sunset Boulevard Hotel in honor of the nominees of the 2019 Golden Globe Awards. A-listers who dropped by the two-day event included Alex Borstein (Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), Angela Bassett, Chloe Coleman (Big Little Lies), Felicity Huffman, Holly Taylor (The Americans), Michael Beasley (Escape at Dannemora), nominee for best foreign film Capernaum Nadine Labaki, Viola Davis, plus many others.
Couture designs by Zurich-based designer Gela Wesh were introduced to the stars in attendance, with some even selecting gowns to wear at upcoming gala red-carpet events. Also featured from Switzerland was De Marquet, which displayed its clutches featuring bespoke designs created especially for this year’s award season.
Italian designer Patty Paillette unveiled its new line of handmade glasses, while Geek Eyewear offered up its stylish eyewear and sunnies. Jewelry was also a major focal point of the suite, with New York-based Arido jewelry presenting six female stars with exquisite emerald pendants and Diamond Veneer showcasing a stunning selection of simulated diamonds and gemstone pieces that truly look like the real thing.

Wellness-inspired jewels and baubles were also on the agenda with Germany’s Magnetix offering up a collection of magnetic bracelets and Canadian Four of Fire, which presented handcrafted crystal, Reiki-treated, gemstone healing trees and jewelry.
Some lucky celebrities were gifted trips to Relais and Chateaux’s Le Taha’a Island Resort and Spa in French Polynesia and to Soori Bali Resort in Bora Bora, which features one of area’s most beautiful swimming pools.
Other highlights included Malaysian vegan, cruelty-free Omorose Cosmetics that employs persons with disabilities, recognizing that disability is not a barrier, while Krama Heritage, an organization that supports ‘Pour un sourire d enfant’ and provides jobs to 50 Cambodians, presented beautiful handcrafted scarves.
Each year DPA places the spotlight on charitable organizations and this year Save The Children and Girlspact, an organization that helps young adults recognize the power of self confidence and its significance in maintaining healthy relationships, were highlighted.
Companies also represented were Viva Pops, Appletinies chocolate covered fruit from Austria, High Brew Coffee, World Yacht Group, Maine Island Soap, Synergy, Light on Lotus, Topo Chico, Go Macro, Wendigo Tea Company, Alkazone, Current Straw, Elena Wang, Alison Sheri, Sunny Blue, Vegaron, Jacqueline Michie and Maji Sports.
Next on the Dubois’ agenda are luxury suites in honor of The Academy Awards, the French “Oscars” The César Awards and of course, her legendary annual event during the Cannes Film Festival. ■
