Bribón.As the official vessel of the royal yachting team, the Bribón XV won numerous regattas, such as the King’s Cup, the World Championship and the Audi Med Cup. This engineering feat was built by the King Marine specialized shipyard in Valencia and designed by Judel & Vrolijk. It is the T52 model of the brand, which is considered by experts as the best racing sailboat. The Bribón XV is 52 feet long and 14 feet wide and its original price was $ 1.3 million, but despite its history of successes and royal provenance, the market price is strict and taking into account its bustle and current shape, the ship was acquired by a Chinese tycoon who paid just over $ 800,000.Moreover, before his abdication, Don Juan Carlos had already renounced the use of his sports yacht Fortuna, symbol of his love for speed and the sea. This spectacular boat was a gift offered to the monarch by the Tourism and Cultural Foundation of the Balearic Islands and the local government in 2000. It was made by the shipyard Navatia and its cost around about 25 million dollars to build it.

The yacht is 121 feet long and 30 feet wide, can accommodate 8 people and a permanent crew of 6 professionals. With a striking style that brings to mind a premium German sports car, this splendid vessel combines a robust and heavy structure, a luxurious interior with cutting-edge technology and a powerful engine, not forgetting other amenities such as a swimming pool, spa, Jacuzzi, a platform for access to water, teak terraces, suite cabins and a splendid living room, all spread over three levels. The interior was designed by the renowned Italian firm Celeste Dell’Anna Design, but the ship stands out mostly for its safety and performance.
The Fortuna is fully shielded and has long range cameras—both external and underwater— to anticipate objects that may come close to the aluminum hull that keeps afloat its imposing 35 tons.
Its selling price is not yet known, but to get an idea of how expensive it is to keep the Fortuna, just filling its fuel tank costs around $ 33,000. ■
