Keecker, 2 feet tall by 16 inches wide, has an elegant design and is mounted on motorized wheels that facilitate independent mobility. Once installed, the robot studies the configuration of the house to be able to move around by itself.
Its multiple functions include the ability to project high definition videos on any wall or surface and play music and high-fidelity sound from a sophisticated six-speaker system. But that is not all: this smart robot features the Android operating system, allowing their owners to control from their smartphones.
As a result, it can make calls through systems like Skype or WhatsApp, take photos or films and send that information to the owner’s cell phones. It also lets you control the lights and sound volume, as well as measure the levels of humidity, temperature and carbon dioxide inside the house, among other possibilities.
The first product from the Paris-based firm was launched at the annual CES Exhibition in Las Vegas, Nevada. “Our goal is to create a new dimension between technology, entertainment, and our imagination. Keecker combines for the first time the physical and digital worlds”, says Lebeau, Keecker‘s founder, and creator. “We can transform our home with one product, eliminating the need for countless devices that currently we are forced to use.”
The most interesting fact is that all the robot’s functions point towards constant interactivity. For example, the user can make drawings with his finger on the walls where images are projected, or control video through smartphone synchronization, and in each case, the robot will always respond to the needs of its users.
Keecker is not an isolated multimedia device limited to reproducing content; it also interacts with those who control it. At first glance, it seems to be the perfect “toy” for children or adults. ■
